Day 1 in Italy

Travel: Arrive at Bari Airport and transfer one hour to the UNESCO town of Matera.

See: See the third-oldest, continuously inhabited human settlement in the world. When you arrive, you’ll see modern Matera and ancient Sassi. Sleep in a cave.

Dine: Enjoy an apero with a view at Regio Corte.

Sleep: Sextantio Hotel.

Welcome to Puglia, Italy!

Day 2 in Italy

See: Wake up and enjoy breakfast in the chapel. Put on your walking shoes. Meet Renato. Today, he’ll be your guide and take you on an exploration of Sassi (ancient Matera). Discover layers of cliff dwelling homes and find out why Matera was called the “Shame of Italy” until the 1950s.

Eat: Lunch at a local cheese & cured meat shop. Private dinner.

Sleep: In a cave at Sextantio.

Day 3 in Italy

Travel: Pack your bags and get ready to learn why limestone is important and how the locals make their living.

See: Meet Mimmo. He’s full of love and an Alberobello native. He’ll show you how limestone changed lives and why building unusual, little houses made locals successful. After a garden lunch, you’ll travel to the fishing village of Monopoli.

Eat: Seaside and seafood dinner.

Sleep: Monopoli – Don Ferrante

Trulli Houses & Limestone

Day 4 in Italy

Travel: You’ll move to your final destination today.

See: If you love to fish, we’ll arrange an early morning with a local fisherman. Enjoy a stroll around the city of churches and fisherman with a local guide. After, we’ll drive through olive farms to see olive trees that are more than 2,000 years old.

Eat:  Lunch in Ostuni; Dinner in Lecce.

Sleep: Palazzo Santa Anna

Fishing to Olives

Day 5 in Italy

See:  Wake up and enjoy Beatrice’s breakfast. Take time to explore, relax, and see this lovely city. If you’d like to see the coast, you’ll be taken there. If you prefer to stay in the city, take a fun-filled cooking class with Gianna and her daughter.

Eat:  Rooftop evening drink and dinner by a passionate, young chef named Maurizio.

Sleep:  Palazzo Santa Anna by Beatrice.

“Florence of the South”

Day 6 in Italy

Travel: Transfer one hour to Brindisi. It’s a tiny airport so you can arrive just an hour before your flight.

Dinner: Beatrice will make sure you have morning coffee or her secret elixir to get you on your feet & ready to travel. If you love your mother, you’ll LOVE Beatrice.
