Danielle Sweeney, MD, FAAP
Executive Director
Danielle joined IVU in August 2020. As Executive Director, she oversees IVU’s programs and operations, including strategic planning and implementation, fundraising and development, staffing and operations, and global partner relations. Danielle is a board certified pediatric urologist, who has been involved with IVU programs since 2008. She has participated in IVUmed workshops in Ghana, Uganda, and Rwanda. Prior to joining IVU, Danielle was in clinical practice in Austin, Texas. She currently holds an adjunct faculty position with the University of Texas-Austin, Dell Medical School in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. She did her undergraduate and medical school training at Tulane University in New Orleans, her Urologic Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and her Pediatric Urology Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Danielle is honored to join the IVU team and be a part of the life-changing work of providing quality urological care worldwide.

Ashley Van Loozen, PA-C

Tenure with IVU: 2021 – present
Ashley Van Loozen is a native Texan and calls Austin, TX home. She attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in Biology. She received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2014. She is Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She recently welcomed her second son in May 2021 and loves being a mother to two. She previously served as a board member for the Texas Chapter for Postpartum Support International and for Central Texas PA Society. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, traveling the world with her family, and loving on her Golden Retriever, Ellie. She has specialized in preventative cardiology, pediatric urology, and now practices telemedicine part-time.

Angelena Stokes-Wickersham

Angelena (Angie) Stokes-Wickersham is originally from Kaneohe, HI and calls Austin, TX home. She attended Milken Institute of Public Health at the George Washington University, where she studied Global Health Program Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation and earned her Master’s in Public Health in 2021. She has is interested in implementing global health projects and reproductive health justice. She currently works part-time as a yoga instructor and teacher trainer where she creates wellness plans for her clients and helps them reach their fitness and mental health goals. Angie also volunteers with the Gazelle Foundation where she supports global clean water access. Her free time is spent hanging with her dog, social dancing, marathon training, cooking, and traveling with her partner.
