IVUmed Traveling Resident Scholarship
The IVUmed Traveling Resident Scholar Program affords residents the opportunity to experience urology in a developing world setting. American residents travel with Board-certified urologists to partner hospitals abroad to exchange ideas with their hosts and perform procedures such as open stone surgery, benign prostate surgery, hypospadias repair and incontinence procedures.

Residents PGY-3 and above are invited to submit the necessary application materials to the IVUmed Program Manager. The application deadline for travel between July 2010 and June 2011 is February 1, 2010.

Fellowships
In addition to the renowned Traveling Resident Scholar Program, IVUmed offers a unique opportunity for extended international surgical experience. The IVUmed Fellowship Program supports physicians interested in spending several months working and collaborating in developing world healthcare settings. Fellows fundraise for their experience and work with IVUmed on designing a curriculum. IVUmed’s first fellow, Dr. Kristin Chrouser, spent one year in Africa, Asia and Latin America honing her skills, providing service and training, and building lasting professional relationships.
